Obituary for Richard William Hill

FISHKILL – Richard William Hill, 58, died peacefully on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.

A 30-year resident of Dutchess County, he was born in Dunkirk, NY on March 2, 1960. Richard enjoyed many hobbies and was a creative artist, guitarist, and songwriter. He loved the outdoors and was an avid history buff and especially took great interest in the Civil War. He always had an affinity for animals, especially his pet dog, Maggie.
He worked in the Service Department for Friendly Honda in Poughkeepsie for 20 years. Richard will be remembered by his coworkers and customers for his long-term, beloved service and strong rapport with countless clients.

He was adored by his family and friends who will never forget his kind and generous heart.

Survivors include his son, Aaron M. Hill of Ithaca; his grandchildren, Sullivan and Freyja Hill; his loving and beloved mother, Mary Brown Hill of Fishkill; his brother, Thomas J. Hill & his wife Claudia of Saylorsburg, PA; his brother, Michael D. Hill & his wife Becky of Fredericksburg, VA; his sister, Nancy Luke of Lindenwold, NJ; his brother, John R. Hill & his wife Carolyn of Bethlehem, PA; his daughter-in-law, Melissa Hill of Ithaca; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives & friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Clarence R. Hill, in 1998.

Richard’s wishes were to have a private memorial service with family only.
