Marie Carmen Mastroti
POUGHKEEPSIE – Marie Carmen Mastroti, 97, died peacefully on April 9, 2018 at the Pines at Poughkeepsie.
Born in Haiti on July 21, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Vera (Bastien) Van Lung Lew. Carmen grew up in Haiti and the Dominican Republic before immigrating to the United States in 1991.
Carmen is survived by her children and their spouses, Louise Zerdian of Queens, Gladys and Karl Menuau of Hopewell Junction, Gustave and Marie Angele Mastroti of Poughkeepsie, Dr. James and Lucinda Mastroti of Linden, NJ, and Lynda and David Morgenstern of LaGrange; her daughter-in-law, Daniela Mastroti of Poughkeepsie; her 13 grandchildren, Patrick Delphin, Bart Delphin, Beverly Chamberlain, Dr. Miriam Delphin-Rittmon, Matthew Delphin, Janice Delphin-Alleyne, Maritza Reyes, Karl Menuau, James Mastroti, Jimarli Figueiredo, Johanna Mastroti, Aaron Morgenstern, and Jacob Morgenstern; and her 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Carmen was also predeceased by husband, Louis Lavitola Mastroti; her son, Michel Mastroti; her daughter, Marlene Delphin; and her grandson, Donald Mastroti.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 9 – 11 am at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 11:30 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Poughkeepsie.
