Obituary for Anthony John Goetz

Anthony John  Goetz
WAPPINGERS FALLS - Anthony John Goetz, 46, a lifelong area resident, died on July 10, 2018 at his home.

Born in Poughkeepsie on September 1, 1971, he was the son of Patrick and Evelyn (Kinzel) Goetz. Anthony was employed as a Corrections Officer for the New York State Department of Corrections at Greenhaven Correctional Facility for 19 years, where he had been a member of CERT.

Anthony was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and archery. He also enjoyed motorcycles, BMX, dirt bikes and ATVs. He had been a member of the Whortlekill Rod & Gun Club.

On September 3, 2005 at Dutchess Manor, Anthony married Deanna Pizzuti. In addition to his wife and parents, Anthony is also survived by his children, Laila and Trey; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Patrick and Rosangeles Goetz, Timothy and his fiancé Sarah Clarke, Matthew and Nicole Goetz, John and Amy Goetz, and Chris and Christina Sollecito; his father and mother-in-law, John and Marge Pizzuti; his sister-in-law, Christine Hansen; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 11:30am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
