Obituary for James William Marsh Sr.

HOPEWELL JUNCTION - James William Marsh, Sr., 77, an area resident since 1972, died on August 7, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He previously lived in Pelham.

Born in the Bronx on April 15, 1941, James was the son of the late Joseph Harris and Minnie (Swan) Marsh. He proudly served in the US Army from 1964-1966. James was a mechanic who owned and operated Marsh and Morgan, Inc. in Larchmont until 1976. He then worked at several of the local Sunoco’s in Hopewell Junction and Pawling until his retirement. He was also a trainer at All Sport in Fishkill for 12 years.

James was an amateur Ham radio operator. He was also a proud American patriot who loved our country.

Survivors include his children, James William Marsh, Jr. of Poughkeepsie, Kimberly Nawotniak and her husband Mark of Queensbury, and Daniel Marsh of Brewster; his grandchildren, Winter, Autumn, Storm, and Tyler Marsh and Bridget and Zachary Nawotniak; his 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 – 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held at 7:30 pm followed by military honors.
