Obituary for Michael Peter Joyce

Michael Peter  Joyce
DENVER, CO - Michael Peter Joyce, 42, formerly of Hopewell Junction, died on August 30, 2018.

Born in New York City on September 10, 1975, he was the son of Martin and Elizabeth (Meli) Joyce of Hopewell Junction. Michael graduated from John Jay High School in 1993, attended SUNY Binghamton, and graduated from University of Colorado Boulder with his Bachelor’s Degree in History and a Minor in Chemistry. He was the VP - Director of Sales for the Natural Wine Company in Denver, CO.

Michael played East Fishkill Travel Soccer for many years as the goalie for the Lions. Mike enjoyed hiking in the Rockies, golf, skiing, tennis, and genius trivia pursuit. He traveled to over 30 countries. In 1994, he moved from Hopewell Junction to Boulder, CO. He also lived in St. John’s, USVI and New York City for several years.

In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Michael Herlihy of Hopewell Junction; and his nieces, Lily and Charlotte Herlihy. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and a host of long time friends. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Mike’s life that was attended by a few hundred friends and colleagues was held on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the North Boulder Park, CO.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, November 10, at 10am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville. Interment will follow in St. Denis Cemetery.
