Obituary for Ralph Malile

HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Ralph Malile, 81, passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence on October 14, 2018 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous, two-year battle with leukemia.

Born in New York City on June 22, 1937, he was the son of the late Sam & Selo Malile. He was born and lived in NYC before calling Hopewell Junction home for the past 49 years.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a devoted parishioner of Saint Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. He was also a member of the Hillside Lake Fire Department Rescue Squad and a Boy Scout Leader. Ralph worked for N & S Supply in Fishkill as a salesman until his retirement. Ralph was an avid New York Jet & Islander fan, and loved playing tennis and was a long-time member of All-sport Fitness Club. His favorite past time was watching and cheering his grandchildren at their sporting events, along with planning family vacations, especially cruises.

On October 14, 1961 at Saint Mary’s Church in New York, Ralph married his sweetheart Patricia who survives at home. His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children Thomas (Bridget) of Poughkeepsie, Michael (Carolyn) of Lagrangeville and his daughter Christine Zarrella (Joe) of Hopewell Junction, and his beloved grandchildren, Peter, Stephen, Timothy, Joseph, Nicholas, Lindsay, Jennifer and Matthew. He is also survived by his brother Ozzie (Patricia) of North Carolina and his sister-in law Nancy McMahon of Queens, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 18th from 4 – 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, October 19th at 11:30 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82 Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
