Obituary for Joan Alberta Taurone (Pagliocca)

Joan Alberta Taurone, a resident of Fishkill, NY since 2021, formerly of Pawling, Carmel, Eastchester, and the Bronx, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Select Specialty Hospital in Rochelle Park, NJ. She was 89.
Daughter of the late Dominic and Rose Pagliocca, she was born in the Bronx on November 28, 1934 and attended St. Helena School.
Joan was a homemaker who cared deeply about her family. An avid reader, her other hobbies included travel, baking, watching movies, playing poker on her computer, and always hunting for a bargain. For 18 years, she enjoyed spending winters at her home in Isles of Capri, FL.
On January 22, 1955, she married Albert A. Taurone at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in the Bronx. Albert survives at home in Fishkill.
Additional survivors include her daughter, Carole Russell of New Milford, CT; her son, Albert A. Taurone, Jr. & his wife Suzanne of Wappingers Falls, NY; her grandchildren: Katrina Benedetto & her husband Christopher, R.J. Russell, Samantha Russell & her husband Michael McKeever, Melissa Harp & her husband Jason, and A.J. Taurone; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.
Joan was predeceased by her parents in addition to her siblings: Rose Kowlevich, Gabriel Pagliocca, Dolores Dragonetti & her husband Ralph, Florence Kerr & her husband Bill, and James Pagliocca.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a funeral service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 29 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. Entombment will be conducted privately in the Our Lady Queen of Peace Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
