Death
is certainly not easy to deal with, and the process of planning a
funeral can add unneeded stress and difficulty. At the McHoul Funeral
Home, our intention is to lessen these burdens as much as possible.
However, the days immediately following a loved one’s death
can present relatives and friends with insurmountable emotions of
grief and sorrow.
Over the last ten years, the funeral industry has seen a rising request
for pre-arrangements.
Many people prearrange and/or prefund their funerals as part of regular
estate planning. Planning your funeral ahead of time will not only
alleviate the emotional and psychological hardships that your survivors
will face at the time of death, but it can also prepare you and your
family for certain end-of-life financial issues. Another very important
reason to establish a preneed burial trust is that SSI/Medicaid recipients
are allowed to set aside money to fully fund the service of their
choice before their funds are exhausted down to necessary eligibility
levels.
During
a pre-planning conference, we will record all of the biographical
and statistical information necessary for writing an obituary and
completing a death certificate. We will also note each and every one
of your requests regarding the type of service you would prefer. This
way, at the time of the actual funeral, there will be no concern among
family members that your wishes may not have been carried out.
Another option involved in pre-arranging your funeral is the notion
of pre-funding your funeral. By paying for your funeral
ahead of time, you can greatly lessen any financial burdens faced
by your loved ones at the time of your death. It also gives you the
peace of mind that comes with knowing that the money needed for your
funeral has been set aside.
If you are interested in pre-arranging your funeral or the funeral
of a loved one, call us so that we can mail you some literature. You
can set up an appointment as well, if only to have some questions
answered.
