Obituary for Rosaria T. Licari "Roz" Yellen (Giovenco)

Rosaria T. Licari "Roz" Yellen (Giovenco)
FISHKILL – Rosaria Licari Yellen, 92, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. She was a resident of Fishkill, and formerly of Beacon and Brooklyn.
Daughter of the late John and Theresa (Marchese) Giovenco, she was born in Brooklyn on January 25, 1924.
Rosaria enjoyed reading books of faith and her Bible. She was always a devout Christian who put her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. For most of her life, she was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill. She now dwells in the House of the Lord forever. For many years, she worked alongside her family at Royco Auto Parts in Fishkill, retiring in 2010. One of her favorite hobbies was golfing, and she was a longtime member of the Southern Dutchess Country Club in Beacon. More than anything else, she truly cherished spending time with her husband, Joe and his son, Joe, as well as her three sons’ growing families.
On October 4, 1992, she married Joseph A. Yellen at St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill. For many years, they enjoyed spending their winters in West Palm Beach, FL, where they made many friends.
Joseph survives at home in Fishkill.
Rosaria is also survived by her children: John Licari & his wife Robin of Wappingers Falls, Roy Licari & his wife Yvette of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Daniel Licari & his wife Patricia of Clinton Corners, and Joseph Yellen, Jr. of Fishkill; her grandchildren: Kenneth Licari & his wife Kathleen, Adrienne Licari, Anthony Licari & his wife Jenn, Kane Licari, Nicholas Licari, Michael Licari, and Julie Klay & her husband Paul; and her great-grandchildren: James, Connor, Patrick, and Anthony.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Licari, in 1989. Rosaria was also predeceased by her parents and two stepdaughters, June and Joann.
Rosaria was a beautiful woman throughout her life and even more beautiful inside because she was always thinking about others. She had a very positive influence on the people she met and knew. She will surely be missed, but the memories she left us are absolute treasures we get to keep.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A memorial service in celebration of her life will follow at 12 p.m. Interment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery will be private.
Rosaria generously donated to many charities but especially took pride in supporting Veterans. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675; www.woundedwarriorproject.org
