Obituary for Daniel Eugene "Dan" DiLullo

Daniel Eugene "Dan"  DiLullo
FISHKILL – Daniel E. DiLullo, a lifelong local area resident, died at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh on Saturday, March 11, 2017 following a five-year battle with A.L.S. He was 53.
Daniel was born in Poughkeepsie on December 4, 1963 and attended local schools. In 1982, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country. Dan held several jobs throughout the area, including landscaping.
An avid NY Yankees and NY Rangers fan, he also enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. He was a guitarist and spent many years playing in bands with his friends.
Dan is survived by his mother, Floria (Pierini) DiLullo of Fishkill; four sisters: Gloria Sorci & her partner Dave Hansen of Garnerville, Denise Davis of Wappingers Falls, Sue DiLullo of Wappingers Falls, and his twin, Laurie DiLullo of Fishkill; his nieces and nephews: Wes Sorci, Nicole Sorci, Matthew DiLullo, Lauren Ventosa & her husband Johnny, Casey Davis, and Amanda DiLullo-Capogna; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives & friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Enrico DiLullo, on December 31, 2004.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Christine DiPierro R.N., Theresa, Melanie, Ivy, Tayquan, Deleen, and Stacey for the special care they provided to Dan.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 17 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A funeral service will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 18 at the funeral home, followed by entombment in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to benefit the Fisher House at Stratton-Albany V.A. Medical Center, Fisher House Foundation, 111 Rockville Pike #420, Rockville, MD 20850; www.fisherhouse.org
