Obituary for Hilda E. DeCicco (White)

Hilda E. DeCicco, a Wappingers Falls resident since 2000, died at home on Saturday, December 30, 2017. She was 81.

Daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian (Lucas) White, she was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada on December 2, 1936, one of ten siblings. She worked at the Argentia U.S. Naval Station in Newfoundland, where she met her husband, Benjamin A. DeCicco. Hilda relocated to New Jersey in 1958. She and Benjamin were married on February 21, 1959 at Our Lady of Grace Church in Fairview, NJ. They resided in New Jersey for over 30 years, and then moved to Chesapeake, VA in 1990, where they remained for ten years.

Hilda worked as an office manager for English Leather / MEM Company in New Jersey for 15 years, retiring in 1991. She enjoyed many hobbies, including dancing, music, crochet, playing bingo, and ice skating. She loved home decorating, and had a great eye for interior design.

She is survived by her husband, Benjamin at home in Wappingers Falls. Additional survivors include her daughter, Debbie Pironti & her husband Anthony of Hopewell Junction; her son, Benjamin DeCicco of Northvale, NJ; her granddaughter, Kerstin DeCicco of Old Tappan, NJ; and many other relatives & friends.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3 at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 4 at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
