EAST FISHKILL - John E. Zboinski, 76, an area resident for 50 years, died on June 20, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center following a brief illness.

Born in Brooklyn on November 17, 1941, he was the son of the late Eleanor Burns Mancz. John proudly served our country in the US Marine Corps and the US Naval Reserves for 20 years and was employed as a Sanitation Supervisor for the New York City Department of Sanitation for 23 years until his retirement in 1994.

John was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. He loved spending time in Naples, Florida and Long Beach Island, New Jersey. He also enjoyed meeting with his co-workers from the sanitation department in both New York and West Florida.

On July 16, 1966 in Brooklyn, John married Gina, who survives at home. He is also survived by his sons, Dr. John Zboinski of Hopewell Junction, and David Zboinski and his companion Mercedes Akers of Hopewell Junction; and his grandchildren, Olivia and Maximo Zboinski.

The family would like to thank the PCU and CT Stepdown Units and all the doctors and nurses at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, The Heart Center and especially Dr. Anita Pavels and Dr. Tim Collins for their kind and compassionate care.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc.
