Obituary for Harold A. Hannon

Harold Hannon, age 75 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 4th, 2018.

He was born in Manhattan, NY on February 9, 1943. He was the son of the late James and Lucille Hannon. Harry was a proud father to his daughter Kum Hui Parker and her husband David Parker. He was a proud grandfather of his pride and joy grandchildren, Mya & Brandon Parker.

Originally from the Bronx, the US Army veteran (1961-64) served two tours in Korea. Harry was also a retired FDNY fire fighter proudly serving in South Bronx’s Engine Company 83 (1969-89).

Harry’s goals didn’t end after retirement as he was an entrepreneur and a successful business owner in the Bronx. In the mid 90’s, he moved to the Hudson Valley where he escaped the city life and fell in love with the quiet and serene nature of upstate life. Harry’s two indulgences of shopping and playing cards kept him busy. We were always amazed that Harry would say he was good at cards but when playing with his grandson he would end up losing. Harry will also be missed by his beloved dog Muffee who was by his side all the time. The patriarch of the family always had wise words of advice and encouragement to friends and family. Harry will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Center. 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. Please visit www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
