Obituary for Charles D. Miccoli

FISHKILL - Charles D. Miccoli, 85, an area resident since 1997 and formerly of Yonkers, died on July 9, 2018 at the Wingate at Dutchess.

Born in Yonkers on June 16, 1933, he was the son of Cataldo and Benedetta (Salvagione) Miccoli. Charles proudly served our county in the US Army from 1954-1956. He had been employed as a machinist for Refined Syrups in Yonkers for 20 years until his retirement in 1982.

Charles was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church and was a member of the VFW Charles Daley Post, Hastings-on-Hudson. He enjoyed music and played the upright bass. A handyman, he was also interested in cars. Charles volunteered at Nifty Thrifty, the St. Francis Gift Shop.

Charles is survived by his brother, Dominick Miccoli of Hartsdale; his sister-in-law, Mary Miccoli of Yonkers; his nieces and nephews, Bernadette and Thomas Waltz, John and Jenny Adami, Charles and Jean Adami, Charles and Loretta Miccoli, Camille and Mark Henderson, Vincent and Wendy Miccoli, Bernadette and Andrew Petock, Marie and Robert Thompson, and Linda and John Mulvaney; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Philomena Strippoli and Alfonse Miccoli; his niece, Lois Adami; and his sister-in-law, Caroline Miccoli.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Yonkers.
