Obituary for
Robert Elmer Cruver
Robert Elmer Cruver, a resident of the Town of Fishkill for over 30 years and formerly of Newburgh, died at home on Monday, December 3, 2018. He was 80.
Son of the late Elmer F. and Virginia (Downer) Cruver, he was born in Newburgh on August 16, 1938.
Robert worked for the Town of Newburgh Highway Department and was also a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, where he served as an usher. He was also a Life Member of the Cronomer Valley Fire Department in Newburgh. He loved to fish and enjoyed trips to the casino.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Guarneri Curver; his children, Doris, Richard, Stanley, and Roger; his step-children, Debra (Donald), Thomas (Ann), and William; and many grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Robert was also predeceased by his sister.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 6 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5468 Route 9W, Newburgh.
