Obituary for Rose V. DeBlase

FISHKILL – Rose V. DeBlase, a Fishkill resident for 25 years, formerly of New Jersey, Brooklyn, and Long Island, died on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the Putnam Ridge Nursing Facility in Brewster. She was 98.
Daughter of the late Frank and Caterina (Aesaro) Errera, she was born in Brooklyn on June 10, 1920. Rose supported the war effort during World War II by working as a clerk and stenographer for the U.S. Naval Shipyard in Brooklyn.
On January 10, 1949, she married John A. DeBlase. She was predeceased by her husband on November 13, 1993.
Rose was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill and attended the Fishkill Senior Citizens group for many years. She loved baking for her family and friends, especially during the holiday season, and also enjoyed listening to Fox News.
She is survived by her son, John J. DeBlase & his wife Paula of Hamilton, NJ; her son, Frank J. DeBlase & his wife Joyce of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, John R. DeBlase & his wife Meghan of Astoria, Michael J. DeBlase of San Francisco, CA, Andrew DeBlase of Dayton, OH, and Catherine Mulzer & her husband Michael of Grafton, MA; and many other loving relatives & friends.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 27 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow at Atco Cemetery in Atco, NJ.
