Obituary for John P. Zimoulis

WAPPINGERS FALLS – John P. Zimoulis, an area resident for 40 years and formerly of Queens, died on March 18, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. He was 64.

John was born on January 22, 1955 in Brooklyn and had been employed as an accountant at Union Carbide in Danbury for over 25 years. He was Treasurer of the Down Syndrome Association of the Hudson Valley.

On September 11, 1977 at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St. Paul in Hempstead, he married Susan (DiStefano) Zimoulis who survives at home. He is also survived by his sons, Frank Zimoulis and his wife Tiffany of Lancaster, PA. Kevin Zimoulis and his wife Eleni of Stamford, CT, and Christopher Zimoulis of Wappingers Falls; his grandson, Alexander John Zimoulis; his brother, Tom Zimoulis and his wife Melanie of Medford, Long Island; and many nieces and nephews. John was looking forward to the arrival of his granddaughter, Addison Alice in June. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary (Spanos) Zimoulis.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church, 140 South Grand Avenue, Poughkeepsie followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
