Obituary for Irvin Luxmore Brown

Irvin Luxmore Brown, March 23, 1943- March 22, 2019.

Late Friday night March 22nd, one day prior to his 76th birthday Irvin; loving father, and grandfather passed away at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was the son of the late Lenard Brown, and Icilyn Bennett. A Native of Jamaica W.I He obtained his formal education and went on to pursue a career as an expert building contractor working at his trade for over 50 years until he could no longer manage due to his illness.

As a young man he migrated to the United States to further his career. He was a resident of Mount Vernon, N.Y most of his adult life. Irvin had a passion for good food, avid lover of playing dominoes, and listening to old music. He was also known for his acts of kindness.

Irvin was preceded in death by his loving daughter Karen. He is survived by daughter Nicole, son Byron, grandchildren Terri-Joe (TJ), Tyler (Ty), and Lauren (LoLo). Brothers: Laston, Nigel, Donald, and Herbert. Sisters: Joyce, Venessa, Leslene, Clover, Deon, many nieces and nephews. Nine cousins who he lived and grew up with as brothers and sisters: Esmine, Linda, Hermine, Lorrett, Ardene, Fitz, Derrick, Norman, and Clive.

Four years ago Irvin relocated to Fishkill to be cared for by his loving daughter and her family. He will be greatly missed by families, friends, and caregivers. “Just close your eyes and you will see all the memories that you have of me. Just sit and relax and you will find I am really still there inside your mind. Don’t cry for me now I’m gone for I am in the land of song. There is no pain there is no fear so dry away those silent tears. Don’t think of me in the dark or cold, for here I am no longer old. I’m in the place that’s fill with love known to you all as above”. Rest In Peace.
