Obituary for Phyllis Loretta Marafioti

Phyllis Marafioti passed away at the age of 76 on May 6, 2019. She was born on June 4th, 1942 in the Town of Peekskill. She grew up in Beacon, raised her children in Hopewell Junction, and was a lifelong resident of the area.

She worked as a Bartender for many years at Tower 13 in Stormville and had many happy memories there, she also worked in manufacturing at the Laerdal company in Wappingers. Phyllis had so many good friends throughout her life and was loved very much.

Phyllis is survived by her four children, Dawn Edwards and her fiancé James Mello, Marcy Lynn Pectle and her husband Christopher Pectle, Gina Marie Marino, and her son Michael Marafioti and his wife Rebecca Marafioti. Also survived by her five grandchildren, Autumn Pectle, Madylan Marino, Michael Marafioti, Charlotte Marafioti, and Jonathan Marafioti, her grandchildren were her heart and were so deeply adored by her. She is also survived by her father Frank Cook, former husband Rocky Marafioti, his wife Joni, and her close friends/bff’rs, Sandy Chianese and Alice Harrison. She leaves behind many, many nieces, nephews and friends that she loved dearly. She was pre-deceased by her mother Dorothy Baisley and her brother William ‘Bruce’ Alexander.

Phyllis was a very artistically talented lady, she could draw and paint beautifully and had such an amazing skill for creating beautiful floral arrangements for many happy occasions. More than anything she loved spending time with her kids and her grandchildren, she was a huge part of all of their lives and always will be.

Visitation hours will be held on Saturday, May 11th, from 2pm to 5pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, with a prayer service that will follow there at 5pm.
