Obituary for Robert A. Biolsi, PhD

WAPPINGERS FALLS – Robert A. Biolsi, PhD, 64, an area resident for the past six years, died on August 16, 2019 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in the Bronx on January 17, 1955, he was the son of the late George and Winifred (Cunningham) Biolsi. Robert proudly served in the US Army Reserves. He was employed as a professor for the University of Connecticut in Stamford. He had also worked at the New York Mercantile Exchange, Sienna College, Molloy College, St. Peter’s College, St. John’s University, and Oneonta College.

On July 26, 1981 in Brooklyn, he married Rose (Betz) Biolsi who survives at home. He is also survived by his 10 children, Christopher Biolsi, PhD, Theresa Korth and her husband Jeremy, Matthew Biolsi, Andrew Biolsi, Timothy Biolsi, Nicole Meszaros and her husband Joseph, Kimberly Meline and her husband Grant, Joseph Biolsi, Robert Biolsi, and Adam Biolsi; his grandchildren, Colton Korth, Rhys Korth, Sawyer Korth, and Tora Meline; his siblings and their spouses, James Biolsi , William and Veronica Biolsi, Gerard and Roseann Biolsi, Joseph and Victoria Biolsi, Mary and Michael Strnatko, Anne Marie and Alexander Mastri, and Peter and Carla Biolsi; his sisters-in-law, Jung-Ae Biolsi and Deborah Biolsi; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Robert was also predeceased by his brothers, George Biolsi and Thomas Biolsi; and his sister-in-law, Margaret Biolsi.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at 11:30 am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by military honors.
