Obituary for Cecil R. Peters

FISHKILL – Cecil R. Peters, 67, an area resident for the past 3 years, died on September 25, 2019 at home. He previously lived in Spring Valley.
Born in Brooklyn on June 26, 1952, Cecil was the son of the late Kelvin and Eleanor (Williams) Peters. He was employed by the MTA for over 26 years until his retirement.
In March of 1987 in New York City, Cecil married Rhoda (Waweru) Peters who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Pauline Cannon of Buffalo, Keli Peters of Fishkill, Cecil Peters, Jr. of Spring Valley, and Edmond Peters and his wife Shaniqua of Spring Valley; his grandchildren, Malachi Cannon, Kalina Cannon, Jeremiah Peters, Hezekiah Peters, Jayla Peters, and Quinci Revange; his siblings, Calvin Peters, Oscar Peters, Sakinah Kareem, and Joycelyn Marcano; and many nieces and nephews.
Cecil was a loving husband who adored his wife, Rhoda. He often referred to her with endearing terms. His children were the light of his life and his grandchildren added extra light. They adored him and he adored them more!
He was blessed to be reunited with his eldest brother, Calvin R. Peters, after many years and much effort, which brought much joy to the rest of his siblings.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 4-6 pm followed by a Service at 6 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
"There's no one except that (there's a time when) he's happy and (a time when) he's sad. However, make the (time of) happiness gratitude (to the Creator) and make the (time of) sadness patience (upon what The Creator has decreed)." Please visit Cecil’s Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
