Obituary for Frank Charles Caruso

Frank Caruso, 96, passed away on October 17, 2019 at his home in Manassas, VA..

Frank was born July 22, 1923 in the Village of Hastings on the Hudson, NY, the son of Francisco and Franceschina-Tisi Caruso. He was the youngest of three children and predeceased by his two sisters, Josephine Rooney [2013] and Pasqualine (Helen) Pyrc [2010].

Frank proudly served in the United States Army having been honorably discharged in September 1944. He soon met the absolute love of his life, Geraldine Rose Squazzo (“Gerry”) and they were married on May 11, 1947. Together, they enjoyed 64 years of happiness by each other’s side, up to the time of Geraldine’s passing in January 2011. Frank lived in Yonkers, NY until his retirement from Manhattan College in the Bronx then moving to Fredericksburg VA, later relocating to Manassas VA..

Frank is survived by his three sons; Francis (Valarie), Raymond (Kathleen) and Robert (Cynthia). He has five grandchildren; Michael, Jennifer Ann, Dana Francis, Julianna and James and was a great grandfather to Timothy and Dylan. Frank was deeply devoted to his wife “Gerry” and had a great and long lasting
affection for his three sons and their families. He loved spending time with family, travelling often to upstate NY for summers, holidays and many family events.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 23rd at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction from 4pm to 8pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, Lagrangeville, NY at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings on the Hudson, NY immediately following the Mass.
