Obituary for Mark Peter Sexton

FISHKILL – Mark Peter Sexton, a local area resident for over 20 years and formerly of Westchester County, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 71.
Son of the late John J. and Mary E. (Lee) Sexton, he was born in Mount Kisco on July 20, 1948. For many years, Mark owned and operated a roofing, siding, and windows company. He then worked in Security at IBM at the company’s facilities in Somers and East Fishkill. He later worked as a Plumber/Steamfitter for the NYS Department of Corrections up until his retirement. He was also a volunteer for the Brewster Fire Department.
Mark’s hobbies included visits to the casino, gardening, and golfing. He was also an accomplished gymnast in high school.
On September 29, 2006, he married the love of his life, Olympia DelBianco in Beacon. Olympia survives at home.
Additional survivors include his son, Matthew Sexton & his wife Lauri of Tolland, CT; his daughter, Lori Anne Sexton & her partner David Sadler of Kansas City, MO; his grandchildren, Teaghan, Autumn, Delancey, Griffin, Jackson, and Wyatt; his sisters, Sheila Schrimpe and Mary Clair Sexton; his mother-in-law, Anna DelBianco; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Louie & Peggy DelBianco, Anthony & Chrissy DelBianco, and John DelBianco; and many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives & friends.
Mark was predeceased by his parents as well as his brother, John “Lee” Sexton; his sister, Kevin Anne Sexton; his brother-in-law, Eric Schrimpe; and his father-in-law, Giovanni DelBianco.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 11 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12 at St. Joachim Church, 51 Leonard Street, Beacon. Interment will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery.
