Obituary

BRONX – Anthony Michael Colon, 56, died on November 8, 2019 at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. He was born in New York City on January 30, 1963.

Anthony is survived by his daughter, Toni Colon of San Diego, CA; his mother, MaryAnn (Bachynsky) Vanzo of Brooklyn; his siblings, Fred Colon and his wife Toni Ann of LaGrangeville; Robin Sullivan and her husband Tom of Mahopac; Frank Vanzo of Brooklyn, Terri Vanzo of Brooklyn, Fred Colon of California; and Andrew Colon of California; and many aunts, uncles, cousins , nieces, nephews, and many friends. Anthony was predeceased by his father, Freddie Colon; his stepfather, Frank Vanzo; his grandmothers, Mary Tolstick, Tessie Vanzo, and Justa Colon; and his grandfather, Cecilio Colon.

Anthony will be remembered by all as being the life of the party, his great sense of humor, and especially his laugh. He enjoyed listening to music, and his favorite songs were “The Way We Were” by Barbara Streisand and “I Wanna Go Home” by Michael Buble. Anthony loved walking the streets of New York City, from Chinatown to Central Park, where you would always find him on a sunny day. Most of all, he loved his family and traveled throughout the country to make sure he spent time with each of them. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be private and are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home. Please visit Anthony’s Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.

Where do I start!  For years I've been trying to find you. I searched and searched and searched and came up empty handed. The guys from our crew wud ask where you were! We all missed you. Wanted to find you but couldnt! They had many FH reunions and they so wanted you to be part of it.  Every now and again I'd search but nothing. Crazy, but I always thought.. you'd eventually appear and find one of us or go to my mom if anything but nothing. It's like you disappeared into the night. No sightings. Then recently, going through FH photo's, my search was on again.

After looking for a couple of days, I winded up asking Dolores, who gave me the horrible news of your passing two weeks earlier.  I wasnt aware that Dee was in contact with Terri. Had I only asked Dolores years ago, weeks earlier or months ago I would've found you. I'm still in otter shock.  The news of your passing felt like someone ripped my heart right out of my chest. You always played that big brother role. Always watching over me even tho.. I was 6mo's older. Mom loved you. I remember the day you fought with my mom about getting me a job at the funhouse.  You told her you'd be my body guard.  It was becuz of you I got that job and it was becuz of you I've made the friends I've made and kept thru the years. They were your friends that then became my friends. There's so many good things in my life that happened becuz of you!  Too many to list but all are memories I will never forget. Gosh dude.. I so dam miss you. It hurts so bad. If there is truly a heaven and when it's my time.. I just hope we meet up again. I can see us now.. laughing like old days! While your up there.. give all my furries hugs and kisses. I miss you and all my animals! Love and miss you cuz! RIP till we meet again! xoxxoxoxoxoxxoxoxoxo

My brother, I’m left heartbroken that you left us .. I will never forget all the times you came to visit me and mommy and grace and we had so many laughs and good times together. I will miss All our Phone conversations about life & our memories growing up. I will especially miss your funny voicemails you would leave me where you would sing to me funny rhymes and the sentimental ones where you talked about our past and “ this life we are living in.“.!! You always were so generous, affectionate and you had the greatest sense of humor ..!! It hurts to know I will never get your phone calls and hear your voice and never see you walk in my door to hug and kiss you.. You always wanted your family and to be together and I can say that you were the definition of what a family should be. Thanks for making me feel beautiful and always telling me you were so proud of me. You will live in my heart Always. Till we meet Again one day. I love you so much. ❤️
