Obituary for Kenneth Anthony Trimble Sr.

Kenneth Anthony Trimble, Sr., a lifelong resident of Cold Spring, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. He was 84.
Son of the late Robert H. and Mary (Coro) Trimble, he was born in Cold Spring on February 5, 1935. Kenneth was a graduate of Our Lady of Loretto School and Haldane High School. In 1957, he was inducted into the U.S. Army and served our country until he was honorably discharged in 1963.
Kenneth worked for many years as a diesel mechanic for Allen Coal Company and CK Industries in Garrison. He retired in 1997. He was a founding member of many organizations such as the North Highlands Fire Department, Cold Spring Boat Club, and was also a lifetime member of the Philipstown Rod & Gun Club.
An avid outdoorsman, Kenneth enjoyed hunting, fishing, and fur trading. He also took great pride in restoring and rebuilding vintage cars.
On June 1, 1957, he married Shirley M. Niver in Beacon. Shirley survives at home in Cold Spring.
Additional survivors include his daughter, Cindy M. Trimble; his grandsons, Kenneth A. Trimble, III and R.J. Trimble-Edwards; his brother, Patrick Edward Trimble; and many other relatives & friends.
Kenneth was predeceased by his parents as well as his son, Kenneth A. Trimble, Jr.; his brothers, Robert H. Trimble, Jr. and Roland Merandy; and his sisters, Marion (Merandy) Somogyi-Franchini and Genevieve (Merandy) Komisar.
A private burial service was held at Cold Spring Cemetery.
