Obituary for Nancy Jane Evans
PIEDMONT, SC – Nancy Jane Evans, 81, died on December 5, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, SC. She previously lived in Beacon, NY and Hopewell Junction, NY.
Born in Beacon, NY, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Margaret (MacDowell) Neary. Nancy worked in the lab at IBM in East Fishkill until her retirement in 1993. She enjoyed line dancing, cruising, ceramics, bowling, and flamingos.
On April 7, 1958 in Beacon, she married William W. “Zeke” Evans, Sr. who predeceased her in 1998. She is survived by her sons, William W. Evans, Jr. and his wife Holly of Piedmont, SC and Timothy J. Evans of Beacon, NY; her grandchildren and their spouses, William W. and Shayla Evans, III of Piedmont, SC, Kylee Evans and Dan Vreeland of Greer, SC, and Faith and Evan Barbare of Lexington, SC; her great-grandchildren, William W. Evans, IV, Karlee Evans, Brylee Evans, and Ella Barbare; and her sister-in-law, Joy Neary of Beacon, NY.
In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was also predeceased by her brothers, Benjamin “Benny” Neary and David “Butch” Neary.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 10:30 am at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
