Obituary for Katherine Eleanor Adams (Losee)

Katherine Eleanor Adams, a resident of Fishkill since 1961, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 83.
Daughter of the late Wilfred and Katherine (McCaffrey) Losee, she was born in White Plains on June 2, 1936.
Katherine will be remembered for her generosity and dedication to the community. She used her skill as a crochetier to create over 8,000 hats and blankets which were donated to organizations throughout the United States and worldwide to assist with warriors of cancer, premature birth, homelessness, Doctors Without Borders, and more. She was a volunteer for the Fishkill Health Related Center, where she later became employed as the facility’s Activities Coordinator. She worked as a Curator for the Blodgett Memorial Library in Fishkill for many years and also volunteered/managed for the Nifty Thrifty Shop for more than 25 years.
On April 27, 1953, she married William H. Adams in White Plains, NY. William survives at home in Fishkill. They spent most of their remaining 67 years in the Dutchess Park/Fishkill area. They loved to travel the country extensively by car together. Katherine loved her God, her large family, gardening, cooking, crafting, and especially the written word in any format.
Additional survivors include her sister Mary Losee and her spouse Mary Troy, daughter, Barbara Taylor of Fishkill; her son, Thomas W. Adams of Johnstown, CO; her son, Carl W. Adams and wife Leasa Adams of Panama City, FL; grandchildren Alexandra Diaz, Katherine Herrera, Bronwyn Doyle, Niccole Goode, Mary Katherine Cordero, Adam Burke, Chelsea Burke-Taylor , Dallas Bergan, Devin Adams, Kyle Adams, 15 great-grandchildren, as well as many other loving relatives & friends.
In addition to her parents, Katherine was also predeceased by her children, Susan Loyd (1998), Virginia Gail (1955), and Jason (1973) and her grandson Christian Jean (2018).
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
