Lorenzo (Larry) Marinelli, 78, beloved father, passed peacefully at the Oaks at Ashton Hills in Covington, GA on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 after an extended illness.

A Dutchess County resident since 1977, he was born in the Bronx, NY on May 27, 1941, the son of Alphonso and Frances Marinelli. He moved to the Covington, GA area last year to be closer to his family. Larry worked for Siemens Medical located in Tarrytown, NY, for over 45 years as a Prototype Engineering Technician. He designed and built electronics for a variety of hospital medical equipment. In later years, he also ran the Engineering department’s company store. He retired from Siemens in December 2018.

Larry was a lover of photography and had some works professionally published over the years. He also enjoyed baseball, movies and crime mysteries. He had a kind, generous spirit who enjoyed helping others and spending time with family and friends. He was very committed to his family and always offered his support and guidance. He also had a great sense of humor. His legacy will live on through all who knew him, and he will be missed very much.

He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia, and son-in-law John Leppert who both reside in Oxford, GA. Survivors also include his sister-in-law, Helen Lay; niece, Patricia Palapoli and her husband Richard, niece Cathy Harman and her husband Jim, and grand nieces, Nicole, Yvette, Jean and Diane. Larry is predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years, Helen Marinelli, who he is now reunited with.

There are no calling hours and burial will be private at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. My condolences to the Marinelli Family on the loss of Larry.
I have worked with Larry for close to 30 years and have never met a more gentle or kinder person than he. In all those years I never heard him have a bad word to say towards anyone.
I cannot tell you the countless number of circuits that Larry built and brought to life for me over those years. He was a dedicated and hard worker, a true craftsman at what he did. I think I can speak for the entire Electrical Engineering group in Tarrytown that Larry will be missed by all. God Bless and may he Rest In Peace.

Larry was one of the sweetest men I ever knew. He was very helpful when I needed things from the Siemen company store. It was always a pleasure to talk with him. I feel privileged to have known and worked with him. My deepest condolences to his family.

I worked with Larry for 30 years and I'm so sorry to hear that he passed. It was wonderful working with him - he always was friendly, upbeat and helpful. It is my belief that he really loved working with all of us as he stayed long past regular retirement age.

Rest in peace Larry...
