Vera Tomlin, a resident of Wappingers Falls for more than 25 years, formerly of the Bronx and White Plains, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 at Montefiore Hospital in New Rochelle. She was 80.
Daughter of the late Shafter and Lucille (West) Tomlin, she was born in Albany, GA on September 3, 1939.
Vera worked for many years as a waitress in the Bronx. An avid tennis fan, she also liked watching classic western films and reading all kinds of books. More than anything else, Vera truly cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her siblings, Juanita Tomlin, Florence Taylor, John Tomlin, James Tomlin, Kenneth Douglas, Michael Tomlin, Philip Tomlin, Faith Tomlin, Dorothy Tomlin, Ruthie Tomlin, Joanna Tomlin, Jeanette Tomlin, and Linda Tomlin; and her aunt, Susan Taylor.
Vera is additionally survived by a host of nieces & nephews and many other loving relatives & friends.
She was preceded in death by her longtime partner, Paul Patrick, as well as her parents and two brothers, Shafter Tomlin, Jr. and William Tomlin.
Callling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, February 7 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., followed by interment at Wappingers Falls Rural Cemetery.
