POUGHKEEPSIE – Blanche O’Connor, 95, died on February 17, 2020 at Vassar Brother Medical Center. She lived in Union Vale for over 50 years before moving to Florida where she stayed for 5 years.

Born in the Bronx on February 11, 1925, Blanche was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Hammersmith) Goss. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Andrew and Nancy Smith of St. Petersburg, FL, Kathleen and John Hennessy of Poughkeepsie, Joseph and Pam McGinty of Hyde Park, and Susan and David Scalzo of LaGrangeville; her grandchildren, Michael Wisseman, Breann Wisseman and her significant other Chris Morris-Wyley, Joseph McGinty, Jr., Cody Scalzo, and Cassidy Scalzo; and her great-grandchildren, Amber Wisseman, Brian Wisseman, Kaiden Morris-Wyley, and Kiera Morris-Wyley.

Blanche liked to make hook rugs. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6th from 5 – 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by a memorial service at 8pm at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place on Monday, March 9th at 12:30pm at Long Island National Cemetery.
