Obituary for Louis S. Cimbrello, Jr.

POUGHKEEPSIE – Louis S. Cimbrello, Jr., 67, an area resident since 1992, died on April 20, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He previously lived in Tuckahoe, NY.

Lou was born in Bronxville on March 4, 1953. He retired as Global Quality Manager from Taconic Biosciences in Germantown. An avid golfer, Lou also liked gardening and painting. He enjoyed his retirement, and volunteering at the Poughkeepsie Library. Most of all, he was devoted to his family and friends.

On June 5, 1976 in Tuckahoe, Lou married Nancy (Petrillo) Cimbrello who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughters and their husbands, Kim and Brett Phillips, Tiffany and Jim Seymour, and Samantha and Will Navojosky; his grandson, Grant Phillips; his mother, Rose Cimbrello; his sisters and their husbands, Alice and John Longo and Joann and Frank Valentino; his brother, John Michael Cimbrello; his mother-in-law, Annie Petrillo; and he was the loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Lou was predeceased by his father, Louis S. Cimbrello, Sr.

The family thanks the entire staff of the Vassar Brothers Medical Center Respiratory Care Unit for their care and compassion.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 23rd from 4-7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 24th at 10 am at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie followed by inurnment at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. In compliance with NYS guidelines, social distancing and masks will be required and capacity may be limited. All attendees should be prepared for potential extended waiting periods.
