Obituary for Mary T. Galindez
Mary T. Galindez, 76, an area resident since 2005 and formerly of Mount Vernon and the Bronx, died on May 10, 2020 at The Pines of Poughkeepsie.
Born in Manhattan on May 29, 1943, she was the daughter of Cesareo and Josephine (Perez) Alvarez. Mary had been employed by the Northfork Bank in the Bronx for 36 years, retiring in 2005 as a Bank Manager. She was a parishioner of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church in LaGrangeville and enjoyed playing Bingo at Hopewell Hose Co #1.
Mary is survived by her children and their spouses, David and Deborah Galindez, Irene and John Campbell, and Lisa and Paul Chietro; her sister, Gloria McCreavy; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank The Pines at Poughkeepsie and Hudson Valley Hospice for their loving care of Mary.
Services will be private at this time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery in the future.
