Obituary for Doris Barbara Ricci (Cooper)

COLD SPRING – Doris Barbara Ricci, a Cold Spring resident since 1960 and formerly of Beacon and Croton-on-Hudson, passed away at New York Presbyterian - Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor on Monday, June 1, 2020. She was 83.

Daughter of the late Chandler V. and Doris B. (Niver) Cooper, she was born in Beacon on April 1, 1937.

Active within the community, Doris was a member of the Cold Spring / South Highland United Methodist Church, the Cold Spring Boat Club Ladies Auxiliary, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She worked for many years as a silkscreen printer at Fairgate Rule Co. in Cold Spring. She enjoyed crafts, but most especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

On January 11, 1957, she married Carmine A. Ricci, Sr., who recently predeceased her on May 7, 2020.

Survivors include her daughter, Christine Amato & her husband Anthony of Greentown, PA; her daughter, Maryann Nastasi & her husband Thomas of Cold Spring; her son, Carmine “Tony” Ricci, Jr. & his wife Kim of Marlboro; her grandchildren, Christopher Burguiere & his wife Caroline, Jessica Burguiere-Smith & her husband Jeff, Thomas Nastasi, Jr. & his wife Sophia, Lindsay Stanford & her husband Eddie, Nicholas Nastasi & his wife Emily, Kitrina Bellucci & her husband Nicholas, Michael Amato & his wife Karen, Dante Nastasi, Kyle Ricci, Anthony Amato, Jr. & his wife Joy, and Daniel Amato; 15 great-grandchildren; her sister, Claira Staples; her brothers and their wives, Chandler Victor & Mary Cooper and Robert & Kathy Cooper; and many other loving relatives & friends. Doris also leaves behind her beloved cat Willy.

All services will be private, with a memorial service to be announced at a later date. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
