Obituary for Jane F. Sullivan (McCarthy)

Wappingers Falls – Jane F. Sullivan, 89, an area resident for 33 years and formerly of Brewster and the Bronx, died peacefully on August 4, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born on July 5, 1931 in the Bronx, Jane was the daughter of Patrick and Elizabeth (Cussen) McCarthy. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, Wappingers Falls, and a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Ladies Auxiliary of W.T. Garner Engine Company. She loved traveling with Aunt Alice on Avery Tours and Adventures for Rascals.

On June 7, 1952 in the Bronx, Jane married Jeremiah Sullivan who predeceased her on April 23, 2003. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jeremiah and Mary Sullivan of Edgewater, MD, Jane and Frank Merlino of Hopewell Junction, Theresa and Patrick O’Neill of Wappingers Falls, and Elizabeth and Robert Pike of Selkirk; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Alice McCarthy and Anne McCarthy; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Edward Sullivan, in 2017.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow in St. Denis Cemetery.
