Obituary for Gertrude "Trudy" Rabb

EAST FISHKILL – Gertrude “Trudy” Rabb, 100, died peacefully on August 8, 2020 at the Wingate at Dutchess.

Born in Augsburg, Germany on May 20, 1920, she was the daughter of Alfred and Fanny (Gerngross) Bernheimer. She came to the United States in 1934. Trudy worked for Burnham Corp in Irvington for many years, and later worked for Abbott House in Irvington for 10 years until her retirement in 1982. She was the past president of the Dobbs Ferry Women’s Club and the Dobbs Ferry Auxiliary where she volunteered. Before and after retiring, she spent many hours crocheting and knitting for many charities.

On December 20, 1946 in New York City, Trudy married Bert Rabb who predeceased her on April 19, 1985. She was also predeceased by her son, Alan Rabb; and her son-in-law, Robert Logan.

Trudy is survived by her daughter, Carol Logan; her grandchildren, Alan (Jeanette) Connolly, Stephanie (James) Gray, Jonathan Rabb, Craig (Jill) Logan, Kathleen (Jeremy) Duke, and Joshua (Lauren) Rabb; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11am at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Private burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
