WAPPINGERS FALLS – Ruth Conde, 65, died on September 3, 2020 at Hudson Valley Hospital with her husband by her side, as he was throughout their 44 years of marriage.
Born in Brooklyn on December 25, 1954, Ruth was the daughter of the late Angel and Juanita (Delbrey) Rodriguez. She was a member of La Segunda, Disciples of Christ Church where she was on the Board of Directors and Head of the Choir at different times throughout the 80's and 90's. She was also a substitute teacher at Our Lady of Angels School in the Bronx.
Ruth loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She was a passionate supporter of the Democratic party.
On November 15, 1975 in the Bronx, she married Federico N. Conde who survives at home. She is also survived by her daughters and their spouses, Ruth Lee and Brendan Turk of Poughkeepsie and Danielle and William Buitrago of Lebanon, CT; her brother, Angel Rodriguez, Jr. of the Bronx; and her granddaughters, Sophia Violet Turk, Alexandra Grace Turk, and Elora Lyn Cruz. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her older brother, Nelson Rodriguez, in 1979.
Ruth regrets: not seeing her granddaughters graduate high school, not being able to travel to Europe, and not getting to vote in the upcoming election. She was a force to be reckoned with. Her beautiful soprano voice, witty sense of humor, wonderful cooking, and fierce defense of and dedication to friends and family will be remembered by many.
Donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. Please visit Ruth’s Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
