Obituary for Georgene Palicz

FISHKILL – Georgene Palicz, resident of Fishkill and formerly of Yonkers, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 21, 2020 at her home. She was 85.

Georgene was born on February 9th, 1935 in Shaker Heights, Ohio. As a young women, she moved to NYC to work as a model and spokeswoman before marrying to raise her family. She loved cooking, baseball, caring for animals, music, travel and above all, spending time with her family and friends.

“Gene” as she was known by her friends, wore many hats throughout her life: Entrepreneur, wife, mother, grandma, school and church volunteer (at St. Anthony’s in Yonkers where she was known as the queen of the paper drive among many other fundraising initiatives). Despite her active lifestyle, she always made time for everyone – especially in her love and support for her family.

She was a pioneer in the 1970s creating her own business, Entre Personnel, working tirelessly to provide career opportunities for so many people and employers across Westchester County. In her later years, she would proudly boast and revel in watching her 5 grandchildren grow, play sports, graduate high school, college and so much more.

She is survived and fondly remembered by, her eldest son Michael Palicz, his wife Darlene Palicz and their 3 children, Michael, Samantha, and Caroline; son John Palicz, former wife Susan Hemsley -Palicz and their two sons, Johnny and Tommy; and step children Alexander Palicz and Patricia Palicz - along with so many other loving friends.
