Obituary for Lauren Catherine Siefermann

POUGHKEEPSIE – Lauren Catherine Siefermann, 31, passed away on September 28, 2020.

Born in Poughkeepsie on April 14, 1989, she was the daughter of Robert and Carol (Huber) Siefermann. Lauren graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School, attended the University of Rhode Island, and graduated magna cum laude from SUNY New Paltz with her Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was employed by Red Barn Produce in Highland.

Lauren loved life – she was a beautiful soul who loved her family and the outdoors. An avid adventurer, she completed 40 of the 46 Adirondack “High Peaks” on her Bucket List. Lauren and her sister, Michelle, traveled cross country visiting many of the National Parks and loved every moment together. Her passion was hiking, and together they completed the Northville Lake Placid Trail and hiked through Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. In 2013, Lauren went on a walkabout to Colorado and settled in Boulder for three years. Lauren's other passions included playing the piano, guitar, painting and knitting hats and blankets for her family and friends. Lauren was very philosophical, and always dedicated her life to learning new things.

In addition to her parents in Little River, SC, she is also survived by her significant other and love of her life, Jose Formoso of New Paltz; her sister, Michelle Siefermann of LaGrangeville; her Godfather and uncle, Jim Siefermann; her Godmother and aunt, Valerie Way; her aunt Barb McCombs who instilled the love of adventure in her; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
