Obituary for William P. Robbins Jr.

BEEKMAN – William P. Robbins, Jr., 72, an area resident since 2013 and originally from the Bronx, died peacefully at his home on October 21, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in the Bronx on November 13, 1947, he was the son of William and Mary (Donoghue) Robbins. William proudly served our country in the United States Army in the following conflicts: Vietnam, Desert Storm, Bosnia, and Iraq. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2007. He was employed by the NYC Transit Authority, retiring in 2006 after 41 years of service. William was a parishioner of St. Denis Church, and was a member of the American Legion, St. Mary’s Council #4065 Knights of Columbus, and the West Point Retirees.

On September 18, 1998 in Pawling, William married Barbara Finnan who survives at home. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, William and Laurie Robbins of Madison, NJ, Natalie Robbins of Danbury, CT, Maureen and Michael Eustace of Boca Raton, FL, Christine and John Baxter of Poughquag, Trisha Price of Carmel, and Joanne and Greg Kraisky of Poughkeepsie; his grandchildren, Brandon, Mikey, Spencer, Tucker, Kayin, Annika, John, Hanna, Shannon and Taylor; his sister, Maryann Listing and her husband Donald; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 3-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 1:30pm at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
