Obituary for James Bove Jr.
James V. Bove Jr, 74, an area resident for 25 years and previously of the Bronx, died on October 25, 2020 at home.
Born on September 12, 1946 in the Bronx, James was the son of James and Dora (Mosca) Bove, Sr.
James worked as a laborer for the Department of Environmental Protection in New York City for 25 years until his retirement in 2005. James was amongst the first responders at the World Trade Center during 9/11. He was known as the “Godfather” at Chibugan in Poughkeepsie.
On May 30, 1984 in the Bronx, James married Thelma Cespedes who survives at home. He is also survived by his sons, Sonny Cordero of Poughquag and James Bove III and his partner Jennifer of Stormville; his cousin, John Romano; his in laws, Ben, Mon, Caloy Cespedes; and many more relatives and close friends.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville.
