Obituary for Carl Savino

WAPPINGERS FALLS – Carl Savino, a local area resident since 1969, formerly of Pennsylvania and Long Island, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 81.
Son of the late Alexander and Edith (Dunford) Savino, Carl was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on May 12, 1939. In 1962, he enlisted in the U.S. Airforce and served until he was honorably discharged as Airman First Class in 1966. He was an electronic technician for I.B.M. (East Fishkill), where he worked for over 25 years prior to his retirement in 1993. In his spare time, he enjoyed working outdoors, woodworking, and was an avid car enthusiast.
On June 6, 1970, he married Merle A. Cimorelli at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Newburgh. Merle survives at home in Wappingers Falls.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include his son, Christopher E. Savino & his wife Mary of Wappingers Falls; his daughter, Karen Savino of Fishkill; his grandchildren, Christopher and Sierra Savino; his great-grandson, Robert Capone; and many other relatives & friends.
Carl was predeceased by his parents as well as five siblings, Edward Savino, Donald Savino, Bill Savino, Marjorie Casterline, and Betty Wasileski.
