Richard A. Hand - resident of Hopewell Junction for the past nine years. Previous residence - 222 West 233rd Street in the Bronx. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

Born in New York City on September 27, 1933, he was the loving son of Frank and Margaret (Harford) Hand. Richard served our country in the U.S. Army and was employed as a dispatcher for the City of New York MABSTOA. He was a quick witted, fun loving man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He was married on October 11th, 1958 to his loving wife Anne Hand. They lived their lives and raised their six children in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx. Richard and Anne were avid Yankees and Giants fans. In retirement they loved dining out and traveling to see family along with their dearly loved special needs children, Gena and Philip.

Richard was a passionate participant in games of chance and a frequent visitor of casinos and horse tracks. During his younger years he was a skilled bowler and an avid golfer and angler.

Since the passing of his wife Anne, Richie lived with his loving daughter and her family in Hopewell Junction, N.Y. During this time, he was a regular at Irish Eyes and Dogwood Knolls where he was loved by all. He also continued to travel and spend time with family in places like Saratoga Springs, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Florida, and the Caribbean. Most recently, our beloved 87 year-old adventurer traveled cross-country with his son in a Truck Camper where they saw and experienced places like Garden of the Gods, Zion National Park, Las Vegas, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, Mount Rushmore, and so much more. It was a trip of a lifetime which will never be forgotten.
