Obituary for Robert R Wilbarg

Robert Ronald Wilbarg, a longtime resident of the area, died on February 13, 2021. He was 78. Robert was born on May 4, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York to Robert W. and Caroline Wilbarg.
The family moved to East Northport, Long Island when Bob was 13.
He met Sue Lloyd on a blind date in 1958 and when he graduated Stony Brook University, they married on June 13, 1964. After 2 years at Dartmouth College, for a master’s degree, they moved to Baltimore where he worked for Westinghouse. Their son Rob was born in 1966.
A year later, he joined IBM in East Fishkill and moved back to New York, where their daughter Samantha was born.
In 1969 the family moved to a “starter” home in Hopewell Junction. The kids married and left, but we still lived there.
In January of 1981, Bob became a friend of Bill W.’s. He was very grateful for the sponsors and friends he had through the years.
He retired from IBM as a senior engineer after 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; his “favorite” daughter, Samantha Pratt and her husband, Chuck; his son, Rob and his wife, Kim; his 3 kitties, Murphy, Scootch, and Gray; his sister-in-law, Judy Thomas and her family in Florida.
There will be a memorial service over the summer.
