We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear neighbor Barbara. We moved next door to the Hickeys in 1985 and will never forget the fabulous dinner party that they invited us to at their house which introduced us to the rest of the neighborhood. The seafood spread they shared was outstanding!! Later that year we found out that we shared the same wedding anniversary date of June 26th!!! Over the years we got to share in many of each others family events and have remained close to Jerry, Dan and Dawn to this day. We will miss Barbara's smiling face as she waited everyday for us to deliver her mail and the newspaper. Rest in peace Barbara.

We are Judy’s sons and daughter. We never met Barbara but we heard Mom talk of her often. We are so sorry that Barbara has passed. We are sad with all of you. But we’re happy that Gerry, Dawn, and Dan were all able to hold Barb’s hand last Thursday and share their love.

So much time has passed. I wish I could tell Barbara I remember the time her Father invited my Dad and me to go out on their boat in Great South Bay. Barb and I would dive down and bring up clams and toss them on board. The men were having a good lunch while we did all the work. Then a storm came up fast and it was a bad scene with very rough waves. We hung on by putting towels through the hatch cover railing and holding on for life. We went back to shore and tied up the boat with waves crashing over bulkheads.

Fond memories: I’ve been your very best friend since we spotted each other back in kindergarten (1946). My, we’ve had fun! Thinking back to double Dutch rope jumping, group sleepovers and the Good Humor Man Exploring NYC together (courtesy of LIRR), bus rides to soak up the rays at Jones Beach. Boating with your parents every Saturday on your dad’s boat. playing double deck pinochle from shore to sea and back

Remembering a treasured graduation gift from our dads —-a trip to Puerto Rico—on our own. We were tasked with composing an itinerary, making our own reservations, and setting a budget.

Next husbands and children. Then reuniting with classmates for Reunions—50th and 55th. Sharing an adjoining room with 2 gals and running back and forth all night. And our trusty phones have kept us together ever since. Barb, I’ll miss you ever so much. Save me a spot.
