Obituary for Florence K. Ziegler
Florence K. Ziegler, a Fishkill resident since 1963 and formerly of Croton-on-Hudson, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 83.
Daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Eschenbrenner) Kayser, she was born in Bronxville on August 17, 1937. Florence worked for Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union for many years and retired in 1992 as Teller Supervisor at the bank’s Fishkill branch.
She enjoyed many hobbies such as puzzles, reading, and crocheting. More than anything else, she loved spending time with her family. Florence especially cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On October 15, 1955, she married Elmer E. Ziegler in Ossining. Elmer survives at home in Fishkill.
Additional survivors include her three daughters: Linda Stronconi & her fiancé John Lucariello, Nancy Marinaccio & her husband Ralph, Jr., and Janet Hodge & her husband Steven; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and other loving relatives. Florence is also survived by many close friends whom she considered family, including Barbara West, Stormy & Carol Atkinson, and Monica Jordan.
She was predeceased by her parents as well as her brothers, Bill Kayser & Edward Kayser.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all services will be private at this time, but a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Interment will be at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
