Obituary for Alex Pappas
.HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Alex Pappas, 70, an area resident for the past 2 years, died peacefully at home on April 14, 2021 surrounded by his family. He previously lived in Farmingdale, Long Island.
Born in Greece on September 24, 1950, Alex was the son of the late Nikolaou and Sofia Papalexandrou. He retired as Detective from the NYPD in 2000 after over 33 years of service.
Alex is survived by his wife, Debra (Fee) Pappas of Hopewell Junction; his children, Melissa Kristan and her husband Andrew of Hopewell Junction, Justin Pappas of Brooklyn, Meghan Dalen and her husband Christopher of Seaford, Long Island, and Ashley Devlin and her husband Brian of Patterson; his grandchildren, Alexa, Emma, Audrey, and Ava; his siblings, Stella Patrowicz and her husband John and George Papalexandrou; his cousin, Marty Chiani and his wife Ann; and many nieces and nephews. Alex was looking forward to meeting his first grandson this coming May.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at the funeral home followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery. PLEASE NOTE: In compliance with NYS guidelines, social distancing and face masks will be required.
