Obituary for William Richard Carr
FISHKILL -Willliam Richard Carr, 75, a lifelong area resident, died on May 3, 2021.
Born in Poughkeepsie on January 23, 1946, William was the son of the late Albert and Mina (Adriance) Carr. He served in the United States Army in the 854th Engineer Battalion. William was employed as an Engineer for IBM in East Fishkill for over 30 years.
He was proud to be a life member of Fishkill Protection Engine Company #1 as well as the Masonic Lodge in Wappingers Falls and the Sons of the American Revolution. William enjoyed biking, playing tennis, and running in marathons.
William is survived by his brother, Albert J. Carr of Tucson, AZ; his aunt, Grace DiGorgio of Wappingers; and many cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 27th from 5-7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 28th at 10:30 am at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
