Obituary for Gary Dean Malstrom Sr.

STORMVILLE – Gary Dean Malstrom, Sr., 67, died on May 15, 2021 at Westchester Medical Center from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Born on February 23, 1954 in Mahopac, he was the son of Harold and Francine (Barrett) Malstrom. Gary was a Heavy Equipment Operator with Local #137 in Westchester County. Gary had a passion and love of antique cars. He had a Car Show “Hot Rods On The Hudson” in Carmel for 10 Years. When he retired, five years ago, his love of riding his motorcycle, became his passion and enjoyment. He was a founding member of the Varken Crue Riding Club, Carmel and was a member of the Restless Spirits Motorcycle Club, Peekskill. He was a former Assistant Chief with the Kent Fire Department, and he enjoyed and loved going hunting, with his kids and son-in-law.

Gary is survived by his wife, Karen D. Williams; his children and their spouses, Gary and Kelly Malstrom Jr., Sherri and Tom McTighe, Jessica Strang, Andrew Malstrom, Deidre Chaffee and his stepson, Edward Williams Jr., his grandchildren, Katelynn, Brooke, Denise, Calista, Gary III, Tiffany, Gian, Bella, Jase and Chyanne; his sisters, Linda Jasset and Karen Stokes; his mother-in-law, Florence Chaffee; his former wife, Sandra Cinelli and her daughter, Danielle Dietz; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and great friends. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his first wife, Denise (Chaffee) Malstrom; and his daughter, Brandy Cameli.
