FISHKILL – Robert J. Lesko, a Fishkill resident for 50 years and formerly of Yonkers, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. He was 78.
Son of the late Michael and Helen (Sanjaun) Lesko, he was born in Yonkers on July 31, 1943. A master plumber and welder, Bob was a member of the U.A. Local 21 Plumbers & Steamfitters for 50 years.
He was a longtime volunteer firefighter and member of Slater Chemical Company in the Town of Glenham and Rombout Fire Company in the Town of Fishkill. As an avid fisherman and hunter, he belonged to many local outdoorsman groups including the Bethlehem Rod & Gun Club, Orange Lake Fish & Game Association, East Fishkill Rod & Gun Club, and Hudson Valley Sportsman Club (Life Member). He was also a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill.
On April 11, 1964, he married Jean Carol Ondek at St. Casimir Church in Yonkers. Jean survives at home in Fishkill.
Additional survivors include his daughter, Lori Ann Marvin & her husband Peter of Red Hook; his daughter, Susanne Lesko & Damian DeRenzis of Saratoga Springs; his son, Robert Lesko of Hopewell Junction; his daughter, Jean-Marie Gillette & her husband David of Rhinebeck; his son, Daniel Lesko & his wife Denise of Waxhaw, NC; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives & friends.
Bob was predeceased by his parents as well as his sister, Carol Lombardi.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with a firemans honor at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 15 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12 p.m. at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Entombment will follow in the Community Mausoleum at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
