Obituary for James J Jordan

WAPPINGERS FALLS – James J. Jordan, 65, an area resident for over 37 years, died peacefully at home on July 22, 2022. He previously lived in the Bronx.
Born on August 26, 1956 in Manhattan, James was the son of the late James and Virginia (Kelly) Jordan. He had been employed as a conductor for Metro North for 38 years until his retirement in 2014.

James was a parishioner at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, W.J. Boyd Council #326 in Yonkers. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed coaching softball, baseball, football, basketball, and soccer with his children. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

On October 13, 1985 at St. John the Baptist Church in Yonkers, he married Ellen (Meaney) Jordan who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Christine, James and his wife Brianne, Thomas, Sean, and Brian; his grandchildren, Camryn, Christian, James, Ella, and Brynn; his sister, Kelly Jordan and her husband Jimmy Wickline; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his brother Daniel Jordan.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
